Jeana Francis

BioJeana Francis is from Boulder, Colorado. She has earned a Masters of Arts degree from Highlands, University and a BFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts. Focusing on Media Art, she specializes in Web Design, Banner Animations, Graphic Design, Video, Editing, Motion Graphics, Digital Art, Production, Interactive Displays, Visuals, and Projection. Jason Valdez
Jason is a publication design assistant to award-winning designer David Skolkin at the Museum of New Mexico Press.
BioJason Valdez graduated from New Mexico Highlands University with his Masters degree in Media Arts and Computer science, with an emphasis in visual communications in May of 2009. He is currently serving as an AmeriCorps member for the Museum of New Mexico Press and has the job title of Design Associate. Angelo Mitchell
Angelo is creating video and documenting programs for the National Hispanic Cultural Center and is under the daily supervision of Educational Director Shelle Sanchez.
BioAngelo Mitchell is from Taos, New Mexico. He graduated from New Mexico Highlands University in 2010 with a B.F.A in Media Arts, graphic design with an emphasis in digital film. Angelo aspires to continue his field of study whether it is in film, print design, or photography. Angelo has a passion for sports, design, photography, film, and music. His most recent work is in exhibition design, front-end web design, electronic advertisements for large marquee displays, and other PR amenities for marketing. Angelo is proficient in photography and film and applies his skill at the National Hispanic Cultural Center where he is currently a Junior Designer and an AmeriCorps volunteer. Angelo has also had an internship at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory during summer 2010. While there, Angelo did a large-scale update of an exhibit at the Very Large Array Visitor's Center. Angelo’s Ideal job would be to work in the film industry, for National Geographic, Discovery Channel, or with a sports team doing media. Eric Maldonado
Eric is the documentarian for the program. He directs and shoots AmeriCorps Cultural Technology promotional and documentary videos.
BioEric Maldonado was born and raised in Carlsbad, NM. He graduated from Carlsbad High School where he ranked at the top of his class. Eric attended New Mexico Highlands University on a full academic and athletic scholarship. During school, Eric was part of the New Mexico Highland’s track and cross-country team. Although he had planned to become an architect he found a love and passion towards the areas of film and video. Eric graduated From New Mexico Highlands in May 2009 magna cum lade with a BA in Media Arts and a minor in Business Administration. Eric has worked on a number of video projects, including videos that were displayed at the Georgia O’Keefe Museum and the New Mexico History Museum in Santa Fe, NM. Currently he is working as a member of the AmeriCorps Cultural Technology program as an AmeriCorps volunteer. Eric is assisting the museum educator at the city of Las Vegas Museum as well as the AmeriCorps Cultural Technology program’s documentarian.
Nicolas Chiarella
Nicolas is working for the International Symposium for Electronic Arts (ISEA). Working from the National Hispanic Cultural Center, he will be under the supervision of Education Director Shelle Sanchez.
BioMichael Jackson
Michael is working at Balboa Park Online Collaborative in San Diego, CA under the guidance of Rich Cherry.
BioMichael Jackson is from Colorado Springs,CO. He graduated from New Mexico Highlands University, in May of 2010. He received his Bachelors in Media Arts with an emphasis in Multimedia, and Minor in Marketing. In the Spring of 2010 he received the NMHU Super Student Award, the highest honor Student Support Services confers. Michael was a member of the Student Ambassador’s, TheTau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and the Highlands University football team. He was also crowned the Homecoming King. Michael would like to continue in his field of study, in which he has a true passion for design, photography, typography, and short films. Michael is currently interning at the New Mexico Natural History & Sciences Museum, in Albuquerque, NM as the CO project director and graphic designer of the new Emergence of Life exhibit. James Reeves
James is working at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science under the supervision of Jane Aubele and August Wainwright
BioJames graduated from Rio Rancho High School and currently taking a year off from college to get more experience in the world so he has a better idea of what he wants to pursue. His interests are in chemistry, physics and math. James was an AmeriCorps intern with the Vista program during the summer of 2008 at the College Success Network.
Melissa Marquez

BioOriginally from Las Vegas, New Mexico, Melissa Marquez graduated from NMHU in December 2010 with her B.F.A. degree in Media Arts, with a concentration in Visual Communication. Her love for computers and fascination of the visual world attracted her to the design field. Typography, layout, and color theory are three areas that Melissa is proficient in and uses to successfully complete her projects. Melissa has worked for four different cultural institutions around the state working mainly with 2-D design work ranging from informational panels to posters and event programs. Currently she is expanding her skill set by creating a multimedia kiosk that will consist of information, oral histories, and songs sung by the featured artist.
Rianne Trujillo
Rianne is at the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History doing mobile app development, game design and graphic design under the guidance of Elizabeth Becker
BioRianne Trujillo is from Las Vegas, New Mexico. She graduated magna cum laude from NMHU in May 2011 with her B.F.A. in Media Arts, with a concentration in Multimedia and Interactivity. Rianne has a love for animation and a passion for keeping up with technology. She has had several internship opportunities, which include co-illustrating and animating Ernest Thompson Seton's "The Mother Teal and the Overland Route" for the New Mexico History Museum's Wild at Heart exhibition, as well as design and layout for the e-book "Complexity Science." Most recently, as an Americorps intern, she worked on an audio tour for the Sculpture Garden at the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History.
