NMAM Tech Showcase 2010

Attendees at the recent 2010 annual meeting of the New Mexico Association of Museums were treated to an interactive Technology Showcase featuring projects from DCA's partnership program with the NMHU Media Arts department. Students from the Cultural Technology partnership program were on hand to answer questions and demonstrate their projects. Those in attendance were able to see the breadth and depth of the skills and interests of those involved in the program.
Among the projects presented at the showcase were exhibition graphics, an interactive exhibition website, and an animated storybook created as part of internships within DCA divisions.
"It's really impressive to see all of these projects assembled together in one place," said Doug Patinka, DCA's Web Site Manager. "On a day-to-day basis it's too easy to overlook the impact these interns are having, but when it's all in one room--it's really impressive. Even some of the projects developed for other institutions--like the electronic books they've created--I can see these having immediate application within DCA. I never would have known about this platform if it weren't for the work of these students."

The full list of projects presented at the showcase, which was sponsored by the Citizen's Committee for Historic Preservation, is below.
